Flint Mayor, Credit Union Team Up to Expand Youth Financial Literacy

FLINT, Mich. (WNEM) – Financial Plus Credit Union and Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley are partnering to expand a youth financial literacy program in Flint.

The Building the Dream program began with Neeley challenging children in Flint to fill up their piggy banks, promising to help them open a bank account and contribute $5 to their accounts, the credit union said.

Financial Plus Credit Union said it will be offering a $10 deposit for every new Kids Club membership, with an additional $5 for students who bring in their full piggy bank.
