University of Toledo Federal Credit Union Reports Strong Financial Performance and Strategic Focus Entering 2026
Toledo, OH – University of Toledo Federal Credit Union (UTFCU) reported strong financial performance in 2025, reflecting disciplined financial management, sound governance, and continued focus on member service as the credit union enters 2026.
Founded in 1964, UTFCU has served the University of Toledo community for more than six decades. In 2025, the credit union achieved its strongest net financial results to date, driven by prudent balance sheet management, responsible expense control, and sustained member engagement. These results further strengthened the credit union’s overall financial position and capital foundation.
“Our financial performance allows us to remain safe, sound, and well-positioned to serve members over the long term,” said Greg Cook, President and CEO of UTFCU. “Strong earnings are not an end in themselves, they support reinvestment in member services, technology, and the long-term stability of the credit union.”
Throughout the year, UTFCU conducted strategic planning sessions with management and the Board of Directors to reaffirm its mission, assess emerging risks and opportunities, and align operational priorities with the evolving financial needs of members. These efforts reinforced UTFCU’s commitment to responsible growth, regulatory compliance, and effective risk management.
Looking ahead to 2026, UTFCU is thoughtfully evaluating opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery, including the potential use of advanced technologies. Any adoption of new capabilities will be guided by appropriate governance, risk assessment, and regulatory considerations. The credit union is also focused on sustainable growth in assets and membership while maintaining strong capital levels and high-quality member experience.
“Our success is the result of the trust our members place in us, the dedication of our
employees, and the oversight provided by our volunteer Board of Directors,” Cook added. “As we move forward, we remain committed to cooperative principles, prudent financial stewardship, and meeting members where they are, today and in the future.”
